The year of the ox - what should we expect?

As the Chinese New Year approaches and the new year of the lunar calendar approaches us, the zodiac year of the Ox approaches us. With a slightly turmoil year filled with changes experienced in the 2020, the year of the rat, the world is eager to see what 2021 has in store for us. What does the year of Ox actually mean?

The year of the Ox is the second year of the 12 zodiac signs and follows the year of the rat. The 12 zodiac signs follow the legend where the emperor of China challenged the animals to race in a fast-flowing river. The first 12 animals to cross the river would have the 12 zodiac years named after them. The order goes as follows; Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Each year has a set of personalities and traits that they hold. 

This year is the year of the metal Ox will start on the 21st of February 2021 and will end on the 22nd of February 2022 followed by the year of the water tiger. Oxen used to be agricultural animals and were very hardworking and methodical. This year is therefore predicted to be a year of hard work. To achieve and prosper, one must put in the hard work and double their efforts in order to accomplish anything. 

Due to the Yin energy that is associated with the zodiac sign being predicted to be very strong this year, this is the year where all will supposedly experience the burden of responsibilities weighing them down and following on the trend of working hard, to overcome these responsibilities, one must increase their efforts.

For all zodiac signs, this year is predicted to bring career advancement, success, prosperity and wellness. Although some may experience difficulties along the way, if they are willing to be flexible and ready for anything, then they will surely overcome their issues to reach the success they desire. It is still important to be careful and not get carried away, otherwise disaster could follow.

For love, this year is thought to be of great significance. Marriages during this year are predicted to be happy and remain stable and don’t worry if you haven’t met your soulmate yet. This year is meant to be your year in which you will find your soul mate.

Health:

The Chinese horoscope for this year advises that one reaps the benefits of the fresh air and the mountains but beware of respiratory infections as the metal element is linked to the lungs.
