Crispy Fried Chick Wings with a super sticky glaze.

 Sticky Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  •      2lb of Chicken Wings and Drumettes
  •      1 tsp of Salt
  •      1 tsp of Black Pepper
  •      1 tbsp of Five Spice Powder
  •      1 tbsp of Garlic Powder
  •      2 tbsp of Oil (any oil will work)

Soy Sauce Glaze

  •      ½ cup of Soy Sauce
  •      3.5 tbsp of Honey
  •      4 cloves of Garlic (grated)
  •      1 tsp of Five Spice Powder
  •      2 tsp of corn starch
  •      3 tbsp of cold water

Garnish

  •      1 tbsp of Sesame Seeds
  •      1 stalk of Green Onion (chopped)

Method:

The Wings

In a bowl add the chicken wings and season with the salt, black pepper, five-spice and garlic powder. Massage the coating for 2-3 minutes ensuring the chicken wings have got a good covering.

Place the wings in the air fryer and cook for 15 minutes (some appliances may differ). Once finished, give the wings a move around the bowl and cook again for another 7-10 minutes until crispy and golden brown.

Sticky Glaze

In a small pan add the Soy sauce, honey, garlic and the five-spice powder. Bring to a simmer on a medium heat and cook for approximately 3-5 minutes whilst stirring continually. Now mix 2 teaspoons of corn starch with 3 tbsp of cold water, pour the mixture into the sauce and simmer for a further minute of two until the sauce thickens.

In a bowl add the crispy chicken wings and pour over the simmering sauce. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and garnish with some chopped green onions for that perfect look. Be careful not to burn your fingers on the hot cause... sometimes, we just can’t wait to taste our creation.
